As humans we are all natural creatures of habit, always chasing comfort and happiness. Hence the phrases “step out of your comfort zone”. This makes moving on difficult and sometimes hateful. But on this day Nikki Bella shows nothing but love and respect for her ex John Cena on what would have been their six-year anniversary of being together.
A few weeks ago the couple announced their split with Nikki Bella stating, “After I called off the engagement, we tried to work on our relationship to get it back to where it was, and in order to move forward with our wedding. After much time and soul-searching alone and together we have decided to officially part ways”.
She continued, “I had a beautiful and loving six-year relationship with a wonderful man. I have the utmost respect for John, but I know this is what’s best for me." While Nikki had nothing but love for her ex, Cena seemed to throw some cryptic shade at the Bella.
“the promises you make mean nothing compared to
those you keep,” he tweeted.
The couple’s love story and it's ups and downs have been documented on the WWE star’s reality TV show Total Bellas showing on E! Entertainment. Fans of the show won’t ever forget the painful moment when Nikki decided she “cannot walk down that aisle.” She did tell her sister Brie Bella about her struggles in making that decision saying, “I just don’t want to hurt him. It’s just hard when you love someone so much and care for them so much, but you just can’t do it anymore….We’ve had this amazing love story and it’s just come to an end.”
But life’s travails don’t leave us without a
lesson, one the reality star has learned and didn’t hesitate to share, “what this year has taught me and I hope
people know, is that, like, if you don’t feel like you’re making the right
decision don’t do it.”
A true word to live by because ultimately it’s
about finding happiness and you can’t be happy if your mind is not in the
right place.
